Distributing Android Games: Alternatives to Google Play

Google Play is the first and the largest market for distributing our Android games. But it’s definitely not the only place to distribute your game.
Given the open source nature of Android, many device makers have already replaced google play with other emerging markets to monetize the segment.

Given the fact that end users generally search the default market place on their device for games, it may be a good idea to explore a few other channels

1. Amazon App Store

Perhaps the second most viable market for Android apps given the fact that Amazon has its own list of Android devices which come with its own pre-installed market.

2. Opera Mobile App Store

Given the reach of Opera in the browser segment, they have a sizable customer base to tap into.
